Hathaway Dinwiddie is a Builder. We provide general contracting, complete project planning and management services in Seattle, Washington and California’s most dynamic markets. For 110+ years, we have helped the nation’s premier companies and institutions develop and renovate landmark structures and quality interior spaces.

Preconstruction

Our advanced preconstruction services utilize the most progressive techniques and technologies like Revit, Bluebeam, OpenSpace and Procore. Our team works hand in hand with our in-house MEP experts to successfully deliver projects to our clients, while working directly with project teams on-site.

Construction Management

Hathaway Dinwiddie project managers see the big picture and dive deep into every project no matter big or small. We recommend the best delivery process and then coordinate and track all resources to achieve scheduling milestones. Experts in planning and time management, we build project plans that incorporate conceptual and detailed estimating, budget tracking, sub-contractor identification and construction scheduling.

Design-Build

Planning, communication, collaboration and partnership are all key elements to a successful design-build project. We foster a work environment that simplifies both free-form and structured information exchange between all participants. Hathaway Dinwiddie design-build professionals are experts in their field, who partner with owners and manage all aspects of the project, from architecture and engineering to the design and installation of the trades.

While primarily known for construction of larger projects, Hathaway Dinwiddie is also one of the most active interior and renovation contractors in California. On average, we complete over one hundred million dollars’ worth of interior construction per year. Regardless of project size, we approach each with the same level of detail and collaboration. Our interiors group is highly specialized and understands the challenges inherent in this type of construction. Experience That Breeds Confidence

BIM

In 2006 Hathaway Dinwiddie transitioned company-wide to a model-based estimating workflow to improve transparency and substantially enhance the accuracy of our estimates. Deployed as standard practice during the estimating process, from partial floor tenant improvement projects to large-scale multi-building campus developments, our in-house estimators create Revit models to derive the quantities upon which they build their estimates, provide visual backup to project stakeholders, and serve as a permanent asset over the course of the project’s lifespan in estimation.

QUALITY CONTROL

Quality starts with our people and the dedicated resources made available on a daily basis, from preconstruction through construction. Quality is about the dedication of individual team members, who take the time to assure that every detail is reviewed. Beginning in the preconstruction phase, our experienced team performs constructability reviews and uses BIM tools to analyze all systems and details. This ensures that final fit and finish exceeds architect and owner expectations. We study options for materials, details, phasing and sequencing to maximize overall value. To monitor and improve the finished product, we employ rigorous quality at the source measures. In short, our team leaves no detail unchecked to ensure the best possible results.
