The Getty Center is one of the major cultural institutions in the country, if not the world. Designed by architect Richard Meier, the Getty Center is comprised of a museum, Conservation Institute, Research Center for the History of Arts and Humanities, Art History Information Program, trust offices, auditorium, and food service facility. In addition to the hilltop center, two subterranean parking structures are connected by a .9-mile tram. The Getty Center houses an ambitious program of activities and defines “Art in Architecture.”
